Video Poker is a beloved game that can be wagered on in casinos all over the world, or alternatively at your house on your computer, using a net connection. The regulations are absolutely straightforward and consist of the player attempting to get the highest combination of cards achievable in order to win money. In this respect it is much the same as a regular game of poker, minus the involvement with other players. The game of Electronic Poker starts when the enthusiast inserts credits (whether it’s tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and pushes the draw button. A five card hand will then be electronically ‘handed out’ on the video screen.
The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and gamblers should now decide which cards to keep and which to throw away. After the gambler has decided on which cards he or she would like to keep, they should press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards will be handed out if desired. The round is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.
Typically, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It is obvious that the pay out schedule can change from game to game, so that skillful enthusiasts are agile enough to choose the most beneficial machine every time.
After the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any cash that they may have won. Additionally, several styles of the game give the gambler a chance to double their winnings, in which situation a further game is played. There are also variations between individual machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying aspects to increase playability.
