Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be bet on in casinos across the world, or in your house on your computer, through a net connection. The rules are absolutely simple and consist of the player trying to get the highest mixture of cards as you can in order to acquire cash. In this respect it is very similar as a regular game of poker, apart from the line of contact with any other players. Of course, tactics used in a real-life game of poker, such as bluffing, will be useless here.
The game of Video Poker starts when the enthusiast inserts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or money) into the machine and presses the draw button. A hand of five cards will be "handed out" on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and players should now choose which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the gambler wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they want, whether it’s all or none.
After the gambler has selected which cards she would like to keep, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any fresh cards will be needed they will be given out. The hand is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the pay out schedule.
Typically, the lowest succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money growing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can change from machine to machine, so that experienced players are able to select the most money-making machine each and every time.
After the first round has finished, the player can either choose to remain on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that have been won. Further, a few styles of the game give the gambler a chance to double their winnings, in which case another game is played. There are also differences among individual machines, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other differing characteristics to enhance playability.
